Most business websites are passive by design. They explain what a company sells, collect a contact form, and wait for someone on the sales team to start the conversation. Embassia is exploring a very different role: a website that acts as an autonomous business representative and communicates with other companies’ agents on its owner’s behalf.
That shift matters because it moves AI agents away from writing copy and answering support questions and toward commercial coordination. In Embassia’s proposed model, one company’s site could describe its capabilities, evaluate a potential fit, discuss terms, and produce a summary for a human decision-maker. The website becomes less like a brochure and more like a digital member of the business-development team.
What Embassia is trying to build
The project frames its approach around agent-to-agent business communication. A company would publish an agent that represents its public-facing interests, while another company’s agent could interact with it without forcing salespeople into a long email thread. The goal is not necessarily to remove humans from the process. Instead, Embassia appears to position automation as a filter and coordination layer before a founder or sales representative takes over.
That distinction is practical. A useful system would need to identify whether two companies are genuinely compatible, ask clarifying questions, and keep the conversation within approved boundaries. A human could then review an alignment report and decide whether the opportunity deserves a call, a proposal, or a contract discussion. For a small B2B company where founders handle sales themselves, reducing low-value back-and-forth could be more meaningful than generating another batch of outreach copy.

The project also points to a 0.3% spam threshold as evidence that conventional outreach is facing tighter limits. The exact result will vary widely by industry, offer, targeting, and list quality, but the underlying problem is familiar: many messages are sent to people who are not ready, relevant, or authorized to buy.
An agent could improve that process by making conversations more structured and contextual. Instead of sending a generic pitch to hundreds of addresses, a business might expose clear information about its capabilities and let compatible agents identify one another. This could be particularly useful for software vendors, specialist service providers, manufacturers, or agencies whose customers need to compare requirements before contacting a human.
There is a catch. A public website can reveal what a company does, but it may not reveal its current budget, procurement timeline, internal politics, or willingness to switch suppliers. A profile generated from public information can be a useful starting point, yet it should not be mistaken for verified buying intent. That is where the difference between a clever demo and a dependable sales workflow will emerge.
The unanswered questions are the important ones
Embassia remains at an early stage. The project is currently gathering founders through a Founders Waitlist, and there is no public trial described in the available material. Its site presents the principle that public agents should be isolated from proprietary information, but it does not publish detailed protocol specifications, encryption information, or independent security testing.
Those omissions are not automatically a failure for a project this early, but they define what prospective users should investigate before connecting business systems. A company considering this model would want to know what an agent is allowed to say, which actions require approval, how conversation records are stored, how identity is verified, and what happens when two agents interpret a request differently.
Interoperability may be the largest practical hurdle. If every vendor creates a closed agent protocol, businesses will face another layer of platform fragmentation rather than an open commercial network. The concept becomes much more useful when agents from different providers can discover each other, exchange permissions, and explain their reasoning in a consistent format.
For teams following the project, a sensible approach is to join the waitlist without treating the idea as a replacement for existing sales operations. Keep customer qualification, pricing authority, and contract commitments behind explicit human approval. It is also worth watching for published standards, integration documentation, security reviews, and evidence that buyer-side agents can be corrected when public data is incomplete.
Embassia is interesting because it treats the company website as an active participant in commerce rather than a static marketing asset. Whether that becomes a practical form of A2A sales automation will depend less on the pitch than on trust, compatibility, and careful limits. For now, it is a promising direction to monitor, not a finished tool that businesses can deploy today.
